CurriculumYear 7 and Year 8 Courses
A feature of the MCSS curriculum is the capacity to individualise programs to meet students’ specific needs and interests. Class levels, Individual Learning Plans, flexible elective programs, mentoring and peer tutoring are some of the means for individual support or enhancement.
This time is about transition from primary school to high school, developing skills as independent learners. All Year 7 and 8 students study a core program in eight learning areas covering English, Mathematics, Science, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), PE/Health and Languages.
All students participate in a rotation through the creative and performing arts (Art, Media, Drama, Music) and technology (IT, Woodwork, Metalwork, Textiles and Home Science).
